HARD to BEAT {KAISERCRAFT & MERLY IMPRESSIONS}

happy MONDAY everybody!

it is my turn over at MERLY IMPRESSIONS' blog and i'm sharing my last summer layout {for this month, of course :-)} feat. KAISERCRAFT’s COASTAL ESCAPE collection, BURLAP and KAISERMIST spray inks {available at MERLY IMPRESSIONS' online store} -

"HARD to BEAT"

for my background i used KAISERCARD coconut weave cardstock and KAISERCARD ballet weave cardstock. i cut off about 0.5cm from each side of the COCONUT cardstock, distressed its edges and adhered it to the BALLET cardstock using KAISERCRAFT 12mm double-sided tape.

i wanted to sprinkle a bit of KAISERMIST spray ink – AQUA on top of the background, but i accidentally spilled at one of the corners. so, i decided to use this misfortune and create more colourful and vibrant background paper. i spilled more ink at the opposite corner on purpose and sprinkled KAISERMIST spray ink – ANTIQUE GOLD on top.

then i stamped the compass from the SAIL AWAY clear stamp set with embossing ink and heat embossed the set using gold embossing powder.

then i cut my pictures to 10x10cm squares and layered them on a slightly bigger burlap squares {BURLAP roll – 15cm}. i used MOUNTING foam tape to adhere them to the background.

to complete the pattern papers there is an amazing die cut paper available with the COASTAL ESCAPE collection – the WOVEN die-cut paper. i took about half of it and sprayed it with a water mister.
TIP! use a mini mister, for example from TIM HOLTZ, to wet the paper just a bit, so you can shape it with your fingers. adding too much water may damage the paper.

i fussy cut small shells from the SEA SHELLS gloss paper. then i adhered them to the already dried net, together with PEARLS – SNOW, to create an under the sea effect.
before adhering the shells i embossed them slightly with EMBOSSING tool.

to embellish my layout i used stickers from the 12″ STICKER sheet matching the COASTAL ESCAPE collection. i outlined the separate stickers with WHITE gelly roll pen.

i also used die cuts and fussy cut elements from from the COLLECTABLES pack and the mini PAPER PAD.

as a finishing touch i added RHINESTONES – AQUA and mini paper blooms – COCONUT.

for my title I used the cut off strip from one of the pattern papers.

i hope i managed to inspire you today!

have a lovely CREATIVE week!

TIME WELL SPENT {merly impressions & kaisercraft}

hello crafty peeps!

thank you for stopping by!

today i would like to share a layout i created for MERLY IMPRESSIONS' blog feat. KAISERCRAFT’s coastal escape collection, BURLAP and KAISERMIST spray inks {available at MERLY IMPRESSIONS online store}.

"TIME WELL SPENT"

for my background i used KAISERCARD coconut weave cardstock and CORAL pattern paper. i distressed the edges of the pattern paper and adhered it to the CARDSTOCK using KAISERCRAFT 12mm double-sided tape. then i stamped repeatedly with the background clear stamp – FISHING NET and VINTAGE ink pad around the middle of the pattern paper to create an extra pattern matching the colour of the burlap.

after the ink has dried i used TEXTURE paste and the snowflakes mask from the CHRISTMAS QUARTERS 12×12 stencil to give my background some dimension. as a final touch i sprinkled KAISERMIST spray ink – WHITE and ANTIQUE GOLD on top of all the layers.

for the layers under my picture i used KAISERCARD coconut weave cardstock and 15cm BURLAP ROLL. i embossed the cardstock using EMBOSSING FOLDER – anchors and removed a few threads from each side of the BURLAP layer to give it more distressed look.
then i adhered the different layers with MOUNTING FOAM TAPE.

to embellish my picture i used fussy cut shells from the SEA SHELLS gloss paper and stickers from the 12" STICKER SHEET matching the COASTAL ESCAPE collection. before adhering the shells i embossed them slightly with EMBOSSING TOOL and embellish them using RHINESTONES – AQUA and DARK BLUE.

 i also used paper blooms – SAGE and mini paper blooms – COCONUT in combination with pointy fussy cut shells instead of leaves and quote circles from the COLLECTABLES pack and the mini PAPER PAD...

 ...and stickers from the 12" STICKER SHEET.

to create the banners i used leftover paper strips from WATER pattern paper and the mini PAPER PAD.

i hope you enjoyed today’s post!

have a lovely sunny weekend!

OCEAN BREEZE {kaisercraft & merly impressions}

happy sunday crafty peeps!

THANK YOU for stopping by my blog!

today i have a brand new layout to share. this month i have the pleasure to work with KAISERCRAFT’s COASTAL ESCAPE collection {available at MERLY IMPRESSIONS' online store} and i can't get enough of it!

.i love the colour palette of this paper line – not the usual summer colours, but so much better! and the embellishments are amazing!

"OCEAN BREEZE"

 for my background i used KAISERCARD duck egg weave cardstock and BURLAP ROLL – 15cm. i cut two 15cm long pieces from the BURLAP, removed a few threads from their side ends and adhered them to the cardstock using KAISERCRAFT 12mm double-sided tape.

to create the white dimensional layer i used TEXTURE PASTE and DAMASK QUARTERS 12×12 stencil.

to give it some more colour i smudged some paste around on the masked pattern. once the TEXTURE PASTE has dried, i sprinkled KAISERMIST spray ink – TURQUOISE on top of it.

TIP! Leave the TEXTURE PASTE layer to dry completely, before adding the MIST. the paper may curl a bit, but when dry will flatten out.

i distressed the edges of the picture using PAPER DISTRESSER and then i adhered it on top of a layer of KAISERCARD coconut weave cardstock and a layer of KAISERCARD latte weave cardstock. to adhere the different layers i used MOUNTING FOAM TAPE.

the rest of the layers under my picture are created using a decorative edge from the mini PAPER PAD {i inked its edges with KAISERCRAFT ink pad – VINTAGE} and KAISERCRAFT paper doilies.

i fussy cut the shells from the SEA SHELLS gloss paper, embossed them slightly with EMBOSSIN TOOL and arranged them around my picture. i used also PAPER BLOOMS – SAGE, the COLLECTABLES pack and die cuts from the mini PAPER PAD to complete my design.

my title and most of the quotes are from the 12" STICKER SHEET matching the COASTAL ESCAPE collection.

 the large bluish quote i fussy cut from WATER pattern paper, i inked its edges using KAISERCRAFT ink pad – VINTAGE and adhered it to the burlap background using MOUNTING FOAM TAPE.

to finish off my design, i added MINI PAPER BLOOMS – coconut and RHINESTONES – aqua.

i hope i managed to inspire you today!

have a lovely SUNDAY!
