new chapter {DT work for scrapbook challenges}

hello lovelies,

i've got a brand new layout to share with you and a challenge to get your creative juices flowing -

"a new chapter begins"

i based this layout on a quote i found on pinterest:

and here is the challenge - i'm challenging you to create a layout / card / OTP project while using a quote / saying from pinterest on it!

you can find all about the details and the prize at scrapbook challenges
the deadline is 11:59 pm PST 31 january 2013.

some close ups and a product information

i begun with PRIMA's pattern sheet, which i altered using modeling paste, TCW "harlequin" mask and PANPASTELS. the black pearly swirls are from flourish with a bling "kate's corner flourish balck"

i used also FWAB "elise flourish antique brown - latte & brown flowers", PRIMA marketing flowers and tiny alphabet stickers. the cut outs are from PRIMA's  almanac collection.

for my title i used a saying i found on pinterest. the typewriter is made with TIM HOLTZ die, chipboard, distress ink and embossing powder. i outlined the different element with black marker to give it extra dimension.

as you can see i used quite a lot washi tape as well.

i used TIM HOLTZ' "filmstrip frames" die. i altered the inner part of the 'windows' with PAPERMANIA's  cogs embossing folder, gesso and distress ink pad.

i hope you like today's post!
i can't wait to see your creations in the SC gallery!

hugs 'n smiles,

christmas is here {DT work for FWAB}

 hello lovelies!

today's post is about a layout a made last month for the challenge at FWAB {YES! indeed... there is a monthly challenge going on at FWAB with awesome prizes to be won!}

"christmas is here"

i used TILDA's "winter play" and "winter memories" paper line.

i begun with a white cardstock, the crafter's workshop "chicken wire reversed" mask and a selection of PANPASTELS. after i was satisfied with the result, i stamped a few whimsical images with inkadinkado clear stamps.

for the title i used a sticker from TILDA. i glued it on a cardstock and add to to my page with 3d adhesive tape.

the lovely pink pearly swirl is from flourish with a bling "grace pearl flourish pink"

i colored the PRIMA resin bird embellishment with a mixture of gesso with pink glimmer glam. added a little bit of glitter powder to extra glimmer and glam!

i used different cut outs to embellish my page.

for the punched frame i used MARTHA STEWART edge punches "stars" and "double scallop"

i hope you enjoyed today's post!

and make sure to check FWAB website for the JANUARY challenge - there is a fantastic prize of yummy goodies waiting for you there!

vintage baby cards {DT work for PaperHaus}

good evening lovely friends!

today’s post is all about cards.

recently i found an amazing vintage line from a dutch manufacturer called MARIANNE design "eline’s romantic baby nursery". i fell in love in an instant with the soft color palette, the amazing vintage design and the cute baby images.

i used the following products on these cards:
MARIANNE design "eline’s romantic baby nursery" paper pad
MARIANNE design 3d cutting sheet nursery 1
MARIANNE design 3d cutting sheet nursery 2
MARIANNE design hearts cutting die
MARIANNE design key cutting die
MARIANNE design brown/beige paper roses
RANGER coffee archival ink pad
TIM HOLTZ “old paper” distress ink

i cut the hearts and the key using the cutting dies and a die cutting machine. then i inked the edges and stamped a text image to give extra depth to my cut outs and make them look more vintage.

i inked the edge of the different paper as well - they always look nicer with a little bit of ink:-)

i hope you enjoyed my baby cards!

i don't know if you noticed, but there is a girl card and a boy card and it is because two of my best friends are expecting a baby - one will be a boy and the other - a girl. and as you can see - i'm already covered:-) now all i need to do is think of nice wishes for the little ones and go and do some baby shopping:-)

thank you for stopping by!

hugs 'n smiles,
Emmy

winter joy {DT work for PaperHaus}

hello lovelies!

here is my first post for 2013! YAY!

i'm so into 2013! i've got to say good-bye to 2012 in the most magnificent way and i'm really looking forward to 2013!

so, to start your creative juices floating i'm presenting you january's sketch from the PAPERHAUS magazine  and my layout, based on it -

"winter JOY"

and here is the sketch designed by the very talented julianne mckenna-de lumen:

for my layout i used PRIMA marketing "north country"collection and a blue cardstock.

i covered the cardstock with gesso and distressed its edges with "old paper". after the gesso was dry, i added colored circles with TIM HOLTZ' distress stain "old paper" and "tumbled glass" on random spots.

as usual i did a lot of fussy cutting and die cutting to create the embellishments for my layout. i used mainly PRIMA papers and the tag sheet.

i cut the large snowflakes and the buttons with dies from MARIANNE design.

for the title i used alpha stickers again from PRIMA marketing.

HAVE A FANTASTIC 2013!

hugs 'n smiles,
Emmy
