mixed media canvas "spring" {DT work for heartfelt creations}

hello crafty friends!

it's wednesday and i've got a brand new HEARTFELT CREATIONS project to share with you. it's another one of my season mixed media canvas, featuring the amazing DELICATE ASTERS COLLECTION -

"SPRING"

HEARTFELT CREATIONS products used:

 first i covered the canvas with gesso. then i added color using my AMAZING panpastels – i mixed light and dark green, blue, violet and dark purple to match the colors of the pattern papers. for the background i used the following HC stamp sets: HC script aster background set; HC delicate asters and butterflies set and HC tattered background set. i stamped the script in the middle of the canvas using HC large elegant word background set. to finish off my background i colored the butterflies with TIM HOLTZ violet distress markers.

for the doll you need my sketch, HC classic edition paper collection {for the doll} and HC delicate asters paper collection {for the dress}. You can download the sketch HERE

i printed the sketch few times on a normal paper and cut out all the different elements. after i cut the doll parts from pattern paper i distressed their edges with RANGER "black jet" archival ink. assemble the and paper doll as pictured. to add extra glamour to my doll i added glitter to the "ribbon" and the Prima flower center pearl to decorate the bow.

i stamped the little asters on greenish pattern paper using the HC delicate asters set and HC delicate asters die. for the flower centers i used STICKLES “copper” glitter glue.

i fussy cut the butterflies and the green swirl from pattern paper, embossed them slightly and added them to my canvas. then i stamped and die cut the purple asters, added glitter glue in the middle and arranged them around the paper swirl.

i hope you enjoyed today's post!

MEXICO {DT work for FWAB}

hello scrappy friends!

this month i'm hosting the scrappy challenge at FLOURISH WITH A BLING

 “add a memory file/storage pocket to your page”

 with August being the month of the summer holidays i figured this will be the perfect challenge for september. I know everybody came home with a lot of cards, tickets and other travel memorabilia to preserve, so create an amazing layout about your journey {for example} and store them!

here is some inspiration from me:

i used TIM HOLTZ and FWAB products on this layout.

the paper is from TIM HOLTZ "travel destinations" paper pad. i added two storage pockets/memory files to my layout and one flip for extra pictures.

for the post cards i used my picture and TIM HOLTZ' craft postcards. i distressed the edges of the picture and shapes the card with decorative scissors.

i used the crafter's workshop "tile texture" mask with modeling paste to add extra dimension to the background. then i cut the my embellishments from cardboard using TIM HOLTZ alterations "hardware findings" die. i coloured the cardboard with graphite and added crackle paint to achieve the weathered look.

the car is cut with TIM HOLTZ alterations "old jalopy" die. i coloured it, added crackle paint and embellished it with the gear wheel and the brad.

i made the memory files from craft cardstock and pattern paper. i used TIM HOLTZ idea-ology "file tabs" for the file tabs:-)

the road sign i cut from a pictures i took in MEXICO. i'm usually taking so many pictures of different buildings, road signs, etc. without us on them {as my mother calls them "postcards"} and then they end up stored on a server never to be printed. so i thought this is a good way to use at least some of them.

the amazing flourish is from FLOURISH WITH A BLING - the new ELISE flourish and flower set
i used ELISE flourish black for the swirl and the grey flower and ELISE flourish antique brown for the brown flower.

i used TIM HOLTZ idea-ology "chitchat word stickers" for my sub-title.

and idea-ology "salvage stickers destination" for my title.

if you wish to see more of the amazing layout our design team created, visit FWAB blog.

you've got until until september 30, 2012 midnight to upload your creations in the GALLERY.

and the prize is so yummy!

i hope you will join me in this challenge!

have a scrappy day!

hugs 'n smiles,
Emmy
